Corn Tiles in Pemalang Regency

One of the survey activities carried out by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) regarding food commodities is tiling. The tile survey carried out by BPS consists of a rice tile survey and a secondary crop tile survey. Currently the rice tile survey has been carried out integrated with the Area Sample Frame (KSA) activities. Meanwhile, the secondary crop tile survey still uses the method of updating every subround (four months) in the sample census blocks, including in Pemalang Regency.

The implementation of the tiling survey takes place throughout the year because it must be in accordance with the harvest schedule of the sample farmers. Field data collection officers consist of field enumerators (PCL), namely statistical partners, and field supervisory officers (PML) BPS employees.

The Tile Survey was carried out using a tile tool measuring 2.5 x 2.5 meters on randomly selected plots using the Random Number application. The weight of the tile results was recorded on a questionnaire and then followed by interviews with the respondent farmers to find out the area of the field, the number of seeds used, seed varieties, fertilizer, pest/pest control, and other information.
